The CMF team attends a church that was started by local missionaries in the town of Arusha. There are many internationals that are apart of the body very multi-generational as well as multi-cultural. It was a joy to worship together.
Gary had a Birthday today so the entire team went to lunch after church. We really enjoyed being together. Each team member has his/her unique personalities but it seems they all make a really good team. I can see why Todd and Tami enjoy them so.
We then journeyed to the Market with Theresa. We were able to walk around and find little things to remind us of our time here. Heather really got into bartering and Bill got good at holding things! The Market really was a lot of fun a good way to meet people and practice Swahili.
We were able to learn about CHE from Annelle. CHE stands for Community Health Evangelism/Education. It seemed like very simplistic information yet very profound! It is the basis of their ministry here with CMF. CHE~ is Relationship with God, Self, Others, and Environment. Together in community they give the people tools with Biblical principles to help better care of themselves. When the community sees that a CHE family lives by example and is healthier it allows room for spreading the gospel. It is very interesting and that is only a small glimpse!
The students for the next session have arrived yesturday and today. We are very excited to meet them tomorrow and get to sit in on several sessions. I will also be able to meet with Elias and the kids!! This will probably be what the rest of our time here will be filled with and I can't wait! So, better get a good nights sleep for those kids!
