Blogging has been limited lately due to our Safari to Mailindi the past couple of weeks. We headed there for a spiritual retreat and field team meetings. We named our venture S&S 2010! Surf and Sand 2010! We drove to Nairobi, Kenya which is like traveling to New York City for us. We did some needed shopping of things that you can't get in Arusha and spent the night in a guest house. Day two we ventured to the smallest airport I have ever seen then flew on the smallest airplane I have ever been on. Then of course landed at the smallest yet airport that was no bigger than a cereal box! But, we got there and I was assured that our route was much easier than what the rest of the team was about to drive!
It was hot, sunny, and beautiful on the Indian Ocean! When the tide is out you can walk on the coral and see all kinds of fun creatures! The eels gave me a slight thrill but the fish, crabs, and some other squishy things that I don't remember what they are called! But God's creation is amazing and it was incredible to see! Savannah and I went snorkeling as well which was great fun!
The best part was contining to get to know the team. It is a privilage to be a part of such a great group of people serving here in Tanzania. The Field Team meetings gave me a great understanding of the team, what everyone does, and where we are going in the months ahead. I am excited about exploring what we can do with the kids and how to better encourage the family within this culture. The task is great but I continue to pray for the Lord's gudiance and equipping me with what I need to be a tool here in Africa!
So great to hear this good report! I've become one of your "followers" now, so I won't miss future updates.
