Here in Colorado we celebrated Earth day by going to the park where many fun outside activities were taking place. As the girls ran to another group and station of activities I realized that tears were forming in my eyes. I began to cry. As I became aware of my surrounding I knew that the sound of an animal skin drum filled the area. Actually there were many with a strong beat. This style was more of the Native American Heritage but the closest thing to the sounds of Africa that my ears have heard in four months. A well of emotion came from within before I could even realize what was going on. My heart longs to hear the sounds of my Tanzanian kids worship with their little drums.
Momma Watoto misses her kids and the sounds of Africa!
