"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure
and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows
in their distress and to keep oneself from
being polluted by the world."
James 1:27
Again because of the funding from IDES to assist with the famine needs in East Africa we were able to give corn during the last four days. Our CHE leader Elinipa with the help of WEPA (Women Education Project Arusha) organized invites to widows and the elderly of five villages. It was very well organized and moving to see how our neighbors came forth to receive help. Many of our workers at the CMF Center went to help distribute. It is always good for them to be able to serve and see the big picture of the ministry. Jane Ann (team leader,) Sarah and Amy (apprentices,) and I went one day to help and encourage. Julius our outside worker on the Center was there the day we were as well. It was fun to serve along side him to help the neighbors. Many of the elderly women would come around and hug each of us after she received her bag of corn.
Sometimes words are not adequate to describe.
Prayer Points~
- Grateful for the combined efforts of these organizations to address the needs of the widows and elderly in our area.
- The last few mornings we have awoken to a light drizzle. It helps but we are still praying for the flood gates to open!
