While I was in Masaailand last weekend Naserian came to see me and help with the gathering of teachers. She has sure gotten tall! She is always shy at first. But, as the weekend went on she really opened up and is more sure of herself. The guest area of a cement room had two beds in it for my night stay. She stayed with me for the first time. When it was just the two of us she talked and talked to me. I showed her pictures of my nieces and nephew. She asked if she could go met them someday. I took a packback with some school supplies, a new dress from the ladies a part of "Threads of Joy" at PCC, and new flip flops from the Price Hill Kids! She was thrilled and kept putting the things in and out of her bag. As it got dark I laid on my sleeping bag and began to go over my notes. I noticed that Naserian sat on the side of my bed. Then, as time went on she snuggled herself up to my side. Laying her head on my shoulder. It blessed me to have her dirty long self be comforted laying beside me. Massai do not always show signs of comfort by the way of touch so I have always let her lead in that area. Quietly we lay there different as night and day but bonded in the spirit and the gift of love.
Prayer Points~
- Pray that Naserian continues to grow knowing of a loving God. Her name in Masaai means peace or one that is provided for. I pray that her label of orphan will be removed from her little heart. That she will know that she is a young girl full of potential, loved by her heavenly Father, and a young white woman who cares.
- I leave with several of our national leaders to meet Lulu in Katesh along with our six new families to begin training. Pray for our travel safety for all of us. Pray as we welcome these families that they have an excitement to learn new things. Pray for the kids as they transition to new places and a new schedule. Pray as we trouble shoot in a new site along with some of our staff traveling to a new area to conduct training for the first time. May God be glorified in our efforts as we continue to empower and train those to love their people!
