Feet Washing

Precious is the only word I can think of right now to describe "my kids" washing each other's feet in response to their lesson of Jesus and the disciples.  Annah told the Bible Story and we placed the kids so that an older was next to a younger child in the circle.  I began by washing Esthar's feet while all the kids watched intently.  One by one they began washing the feet of the friend next to them.  No one said much.  I am once again reminded how the culture of Bible times is so much more in tune with this culture than my native culture.  The sweetest moment was when Naserian who is not yet two years old got up went to the basin when it was her turn without assistance.  She wobbly bent over took the cloth without ringing it out of course dripping water with her.  But, she took her turn without any prompting or assistance.  With a look of seriousness to her face she knelt down and began washing the feet of her friend.  I hope that these actions are embedded in their little minds and hearts.  To be that of Christ Jesus serving our friends and showing love to all those around us.
