Here is a list of transitional thoughts now back in Tanzania
(in no particular order)
- the power could go out at ANY moment
- one must turn the light on outside of the room in more cases than not before you enter the room
- remember to turn the hot water switch before you jump in the shower
- dust is a daily blanket that enters the house like nothing you have seen
- you can't always just drink from the faucet
- lizards and other things can visit at anytime from anywhere
- if bugs were a from of currency I could solve world hunger
- the clothes from the line smell of the sun but are stiff as a board
- there is no right or wrong side to drive on the road
- roadside flares are replaced with tree limbs when a car is in distress on the road
- Hearing Mzungu (White Person) all along the streets and the infatuation
- its a carry your own toilet paper policy
- there are pot holes bigger than cars
- holding hands with the same sex is a sign of friendship
- dirty feet most often than not
- there are no better smiles than those of African Friends both young and old
My Favorites
- I love to see Africa but it has a way of making me see myself as I really am
- Africa has taught me a heart of gratitude.
- Life here can break your heart, but it is full of people who have made something beautiful out of little which inspires.
- I may have a different color of skin but I am African in my heart!
Prayer Points~
- continued for the transition back into Tanzanian Culture and continued rekindling in parts of my brain for the needed Swahili!
- Relationship building
- For those of you who are endeared and Milo fans he could use your prayers. He has hurt his back right leg and it is difficult for him to put weight on it. He has been agitated and just not himself. Trying to help him to stay off of it can be a challenge as he continues to get used to his new surroundings is hard.
