Milo Joins the Nursery Class

Forgive me but I am a bit behind in my blogging! There have been many administration items to type, lessons to teach, and meetings, meetings, meetings! Wonderful things are happening here in Tanzania! I am amazed at the opportunities before us and look forward to sharing them as the days unfold.

Milo had a big day at school! The Nursery Class has been learning about "The Body" this term. They have a page filled with action words to teach senses within the lesson. One of these action words is touching. The picture on the poster is of a little girl touching a dog. Marietha asked if Milo could be the "real deal" demonstration in class. Milo was a trooper as always! We talked about God's creatures and how we are to care for them. Kids here are afraid of dogs for most of them are wild and used as guard animals. We talked about how to tell between a non-friendly dog verses a friendly one. Also, how we should greet a friendly dog so he/she knows that we are being friendly towards the him. At first the kids scrambled away like ants but slowly slowly Milo won them over! Below is my favorite picture where Milo is really the only one looking and smiling! Along with the boy in the back mimicking Milo's smile!!
