We love Wageni!

We love wageni (guests!) We had a small group of kind women on their way south visit the lower primary one morning. They taught the kids a song, shared a puppet (who is marking appearances along their journey,) and gave a gift! The gift was very special and one we in Tanzania had never seen before. It was a very soft and cuddly stuffed elephant. Things here are rarely ever soft so even I looked forward to a snuggle! The elephant was very life like in appearance. No features extreme which can often scare the children here. There was a pouch on its stomach that can be opened and closed with velcro. A recorder is inside similar to an mp3 player. With a soothing masculine voice the stuffed animal recites Genesis, Psalms, and Matthew in Swahili. A toy designed to bring comfort to a child who might be in distress. As he/she holds the comforting toy scriptures are spoken within the language used here in East Africa. The additional cool thing about the recorder is that it has a very small solar panel on the back where by it can be charged! This little toy elephant from South Africa is quite cool! We all were very thrilled that they were willing to give one to us! The kids took turns meeting Mr. Elephant and I am sure will make many classroom appearances for days to come! The teachers, kids, and I are always thrilled with the people from all over the world who we get to meet! There are many who are very kind to us from near and far! Making a difference for eternity one little heart at a time!!

 Prayer Points~

  • Grateful for the kindness of God's people as we impact the lives of our village area!
  • Keep praying for the upcoming election! These are nation changing days!
