Monday in Africa!

Sitting on the porch reading the Psalms, looking at Mt. Meru, and listening to the children laugh are great ways to start the day! The team came over for morning prayer time. It is the way the begin every Monday. It was a very special time.

We had a traditional Tanzanian dish for lunch by the woman who cooks for the Training Center. We were able to sit in on one of the classes and that was very interesting. It was wonderful to see the Center filled with Nationals and know we have a great partnership with that!

I was able to meet the kids at the school. Some of them were hesitant but by the end they were all trying to hold my hand! They are a variety of ages and trying to work on Math. Numbers are numbers so I was able to help them as well as learn a great deal myself! Then, something I hope to always be able to hear in my mind from this moment on. All the children got around one table and began to sing. They have such rhythm and can sing! I was able to sing for them and then they taught me a Swahili song but not sure I could sing it without them!!

Our last full night. We are anxious to see people especially Morgan, Oleg, Heidi, and Wyatt but it is going to be hard to leave our new found friends here in Tanzania! As well as the thought for sitting for almost 3days on buses and planes doesn't sound appealing at all!!! Plus we know what we are in for this time!!

Prayer Points:
  • RAIN! it has rained a little but not near enough!
  • The Training Center that is in session
  • Elias who is teaching the children many for the first time
  • We begin home today (Tuesday) the buss ride to Kenya and crossing the border again!
  • Safe travel all the way back to home!
