Faith Like a Child

Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven."

Matthew 18:3 (NLT)

I hope that I never tire from hearing the sweet, innocent, yet remarkable statements of children. Today, sitting in the back row of preschool chapel a cute spiky haired little man turned over his shoulder to look at me. He whispered to me with his hands folded, "I just talked to God and asked him about your special papers!" Last Wednesday I explained that my visa, which is what I labeled as "my special papers," was needed before I could go back to Tanzania. How precious those voices are to me and evenmore so to our God! !

A proud mom also came to my office today to collect prayer cards. (Seventeen prayer cards to be exact.) Her children have concluded that they have enough toys. So, for their birthday that is coming up they would like to take the money that friends would buy on gifts and give that money to me to take to Africa. To make their party invitation complete they wanted my "colorful picture." The only birthday request would be my presence to play at the party. Children are amazing in how they want to give! We definately can learn a great deal from them and their excitement to tell the world about Jesus! And only Africa itself would keep me away from that party!!

Prayer Points
  • May more of us become like these little ones!

  • For my "special papers"

  • Grateful for how the Lord is working in the hearts of kids to help more kids know about Jesus!
