On my way to Church!

Sunday we took off for church in the Bush. There was a piki piki (motorcycle) in the back of the truck to be delivered to Joseph for CHE work within the Matale area. Colorado supporters of Price's made the piki piki possible. Joseph was covering a very large area by foot but now by piki piki! So, on our way to and from church we saw giraffe (even a baby) and ostrich. How many can say that!

Church among the people in the Bush is always a wonderful and humbling experience I never tire of! In a mid size cement classroom we were seated on narrow wooden benches. The call to worship is begun by one woman. Slowly they all rise and move to the front. In a circle there is singing, dancing, and cries of worship all in Ma. I got to go with Momma Janet and the kids for a bit! It was good to observe what Momma does with the kids since I am to come up with ideas and training to help with the kids. It is amazing what they do with nothing! Oh, how they love to sing!

There was a time of prayer and blessing over the ministry the bike will help with. It was special and we are grateful for this tool for the great ministry that continues to be done. This particular church was started because of the CHE Ministry.

Then was the big new challenge~ Wendy was given the keys to drive Scott's truck. Joseph was on the piki piki Scott now needed to drive the Mobile clinic and now that left me for his truck. I had not driven it before but thought it can't be that much different than my Suzuki. However, then it became an entire different ball game when half the village was in the back of the truck and Joseph's entire family in the front seat! In a matter of minutes the truck became African! This now made me real nervous as I could barely see driving a truck that I hadn't before in the bush with no roads! Scott seemed to have confidence in me and told me just to follow him so I squeezed myself in the driver's seat hiked up my skirt and took my shoes off so my feet can be on the petals. I found Scott's truck actually easier to drive than my Suzuki! However, the swinging weight behind me made me a little nervous going down the hill. We all made it in one piece and I was pretty proud of myself! I never tire of the new experiences of life here in Africa. (well sometimes I tire but I always enjoy for the most part!)

To part our ways and remeber our time we were given beaded jewerly as gifts. As much as I treasure the gifts I always remember my time with my brothers and sisters in Christ!
