Time in Glen Eyrie

Glen Eyrie is tucked behind the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, CO.  (or as those of us call Garden of The God!)  This historical house of General Palmer is beautiful!  This was the host site for our retreat this week.  Women of the Harvest had 100 Women Missionaries for a time of renewal.  My teammate Annelle and I got to be two of the one hundred!  To my knowledge I have never really been one of those girls who dreamed of being cinderella but being here you can't help but feel like a princess!

Women of the Harvest is a ministry dedicated to encouraging women who serve in cross - cultural service.   There were 40 volunteers from all over North America who arrived with the purpose of serving those of us who were attending.  I will admit it felt slightly odd to be pampered but it was a blessing.  Together we had moments of worship, learning, and talking about what life is like as a missionary.  In the afternoons there was time for rest, pedicures, haircuts, massages, counseling, shopping for clothes and books that were all free!  Yes, I said pampering and that is what the afternoons were filled with.  It was great to be with Annelle and it was a time of refreshment.  I am grateful for this much needed week.
