What a doll right?! Tezeria is probably about two years old. Today she had to be the one to introduce you to because we had a HUGE break through! We have been working on her ability to go to the choo (bathroom!) This has been a rough go. The first time I tried to take her she cried and was terrified to go for fear of falling in. Who can blame her, really, her going on the floor was no picnic either! I sat in the not so pleasant choo for over 30mins the first time with tears streaming down her face. My heart wanted to melt but I was assuring her the entire time that I wouldn't leave her and that she could do this. The breakthrough began because she finally went. However, the challenge then was that she wouldn't tell us when she needed to go. Swahili lessons came in to play. The child was very quiet didn't say much in the beginning. So, every 30mins or so we would take her out there to go. She became more comfortable but we had to be on our "A" game about making sure we took her. Some moms out there can relate I am sure! The best part about this cutie is that she lights up like a Christmas Tree and loves for Amy and I to hold her. And, today (break through day) she came up and kept patting Amy (my intern.) Amy said, "do you have to go to the choo (this is the English version?!) I know, I know its the little things! But, that was quite a victory for us. Tezeria is learning a great deal. She repeats everything that we say! She really likes to sit on your lap to read. She runs and gets so excited when she sees us coming up the road. It truly is amazing and heart warming to watch these little personalities begin to shine as they develop a love for learning.
Prayer Points~
- Pray for sweet energetic Tezeria that she grows into a wonderful woman of God!
