Week of Goodbyes

First to go were Ron and Jane Ann Richmond who are traveling back to the States for a three month furlough.  Richmonds along with Morgan (who is the oldest Wash kid) and Amy my apprentice were all heading out on the same flight.  Amy is from Kentucky and has been serving with us for nine months.  She has been my ministry intern and a great asset to our team!  She was my first missionary apprentice and will be a tough act to follow!  Amy has done a wonderful job holding the fort down while I was away.  We hope this has been a great experience for her and wish her well in her future.

Then, we had some festive events for the Carter family (who are teammates) for after many years on the field here in Tanzania will be returning to the States.  We had a lovely open house for Savannah for her graduation from high school this year.  We had a lovely time of prayer with their mentors blessing them into their new season.  Finally, a lovely open house at their dear friends house.   The last night we gathered in the living room like we had many times before and just enjoyed being together.  The Carters have been my family here in Tanzania and it is very hard to let them go.

 Prayer Points~

  • How grateful I am for these and that our lives have crossed when they did.  I am grateful for Amy and her servant's heart!  I am thankful for the Carters and their love for this nation, the Tanzanians, and for me.  Together we all have had a wonderful time serving but also creating life here together.  There is a very quiet spot in my heart these days.  I miss them already!
  • May Amy find a wonderful spot in the states to serve and I hope the Carters have a wonderful time in Italy (their stop over place) and transition back to life in the States.
