Sick little Naseriani and her older sister

I have just returned from the village clinic.  I absolutely hate going there.  I used to have the same feeling when I would leave visits to Riley when I was on staff at Plainfield Christian Church.  However, the difference in a partnering feel that one has when leaving a clinic here is vastly different.  When I left Riley I would rest assured that the child visited would receive the best care humanly possible with the adequate medicines.  I saw much heartache in that place but I also witnessed some miraculous healing as well.  Walking away from the clinic and this precious baby, among many other small children lying lifeless, I do not have the same certainty of the medical attention.  Naseriani is one year old and has been admitted to the clinic with pneumonia.  Even though yesterday she wore her crown like Esther proudly in class I knew she was not feeling very well.  Just as the sun rose this morning she was taken to the clinic and admitted.   Lomaiyani had to retrieve the meds from town because the clinic did not have the meds to treat her.  Lomaiyani and I just returned from praying over her with her parents.  She is a sick little girl and I ask your healing prayers concerning her health.  May she grow into a strong young woman like Esther who will save her tribe from destruction into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Naseriani is one of the screamers in our first weeks together.  She screamed for a solid week.  The only time she was not screaming was when she was asleep on my back.  Now Naseriani has that toddler hesitant just accomplished walking strut cursing the classroom.  She now has a precious grin and always waddles over for me to pick her up in the mornings for her hugs from Mwalimu Wendy to begin her day.  Just as she has made great strides in walking, trusting teachers, and love for learning I trust she will make strides in feeling better to rejoin our classroom very soon!

Senipa is Naseriani's older sister.  She is 6 years old Maasai little girl who is quite the little fire cracker!!  She enjoys class but has struggled quite a bit since she is one of the girls who only has known Kimaasai!  She has learned a great deal.  I am sure God has great things in store for this young woman to penetrate her tribe with the light of Christ.  Mika and Maniamu are her parent's names.

I have the Lord's confidence about you, that you want to do His will.  So may He guide you into an ever deeper understanding of the love of God and the patience of Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:4-5
Amen
