Furlough can be hard! People often respond when I say that I live in Tanzania with
Wow how can you give up all of this? I am not always sure what "this" means but I do not always look at it as giving up when I am in Tanzania. When I am there I embrace a different life but I gain far more than what I give up. Saying that however doesn't mean that there are not things that I miss very much but that is just it they are things. The "this" is not so important anymore. The "this" for me which is the very hardest to leave within the States are relationships. The greatest thing about furlough is enjoying those relationships that I
do not take for granted! I am trying to enjoy every minute I have! But, when the time comes to have to say goodbye again I know there are my Tanzanian Friends and Teammates who are ready to embrace on the other side!

It is these treasurable moments that more often bring tears because I enjoy them
so much and no longer take them for granted. There are more moments to be had but I know it is getting
close to having to say goodbye to these relationships so I can get back to my Tanzanian ones!
Oh and by the way it is what "this" life is all about!
