This is Mukus and bless her heart she does not know how old she is. That is very common but I think she is about six years old. Today we had a project writing to girls in one of my supporting churches in Cincinnati. The kids know enough of the alphabet to try writing their first letter! This week for the adults is literacy week. The kids are teaching a lot of their mothers how to write! Mukus is a beautiful Maasai girl who is the eldest in the family. She worked very diligently on her letter and was very proud of her work.
Join me in prayer for Mukus. Life is not easy for a young Maasai girl or as a Maasai Woman. You are precious in my eyes and I love you. Isaiah 43:4 May this be a time for her to know how dearly loved she is by her God. Help us as teachers to love her as you would love and care for her. Help her parents as they learn to love in ways that are contrary to their culture and elders. May Mukus know how precious she is in your sight, Father, and may she serve you all the days of her life.
