This is
Fairijika and this sweet face screamed the first day she was with us! She is just over a year old and is an only child. I am sure the times she has been away from her mother are probably next to none. She is walking but with great caution. I am sure most of her time has been on her mothers back.
Fairijika has come along way and loves her time in class. She likes to snuggle with me and one day this week she was laying on my leg while I was helping some of the older kids with their letters. I began tickling her little arm and she laid her head down on my lap. I could tell she was tired but they do not like to go to sleep for fear of missing something. But, they are also used to just falling asleep where ever they land at the moment. I began to tickle her little ear. I used to love this as a child. Especially with my maternal grandma. I used to go up to hear and have her "
spiel" my back, arm, etc. (I am not sure why I called it that but it was my name for it.) Later that day
Fairijika came to snuggle in my lap while I was sitting on the floor. She
grabbed my hand and started rubbing her leg with it. I got the hint and began tickling her leg. How far we have come with this little one. She is learning of a safe place, God that loves her and a mere vessel who she can trust. Such a simple thing and yet I was a little teary. A great love I always felt with this act from my grandma and now I am passing it on to this little one in Africa.
