"The Blessing"

So much has happened in the last several weeks but there is hardly time to tell about it!  The week before this last week was my week to teach the child/family lessons with the parents of the children you have been reading so much about.  I always enjoy this week but it takes a great deal of preparation and concentration.  This week is devoted to studying the importance of children to God and our role in their lives.  There are so many cultural parallels to that of Old Testament rites of passage and the stories of the patriarchs.  However, there is a lot of witch craft that sneaks into rites of passage and explanations of why things occur within tribal life.  This week is dedicated to looking at rites of passage of the Bible and assisting these parents with ways to pass "The Blessing" of knowing God.  We encourage each other to discover ways within the cultural teaching to remove the dark teaching and replace them with light!  We had a great week of study together, acting out stories like when Jesus was presented to Anna and Simeon, and discussion of how we pass "The Blessing" of knowing Jesus to our children.  At the conclusion of our week we had a time of celebration and prayer for each family.  Young and old they laid hands on each other in prayer.  We celebrated and enjoyed our time together!  This  is always a time that blesses all of us.  May these families be protected by the great protector as they return to their village areas to empower, love, evangelize, teach, care, and many other wonderful things in the name of the Lord!  Enjoy a clip of their enthusiastic praise and celebration as we concluded our week together!
