Rachel

This picture was taken of Rachel by my friend Dale Hanke who was here with the team in February.  She stole the hearts of many those two weeks!  Rachel has quite the personality and gradually came out of her shell the quickest in the beginning weeks of Kids Training.  She is three years old and will be heading with her family up around Mt. Gilai to plant a church in MaasaiLand.  I discovered a few weeks ago that she has an older sister who is 10years old who did not come to the CMF Center and remained at home to hold down the fort.  Rachel has learned a great deal and loves to partner with the older girls as they study.  She also has a special way of melting your heart.  She is a snuggler which I just love!  We have had a couple of loving cuddle times throughout the weeks.  She wraps her arms around my neck and pats my back in response to my rubbing hers.  She is a sweet and a very intelligent little girl.

I am sending you out like a sheep among wolves.
Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and
as innocent as doves.
Matthew 10:16

Lord, You have blessed Rachel with a  sweet, guileless, and giving nature.  What a gift she is to her family.  You can read it on her mom and dad's faces!  She's a tender lamb, a harmless dove, but look at the world we're in, Lord!  Keep her spirit from hurt and harm.  Mature her so that her tenderness doesn't render her gullible.  Underneath her sweet exterior, make her astute and perceptive.  Bless her with beautiful strength, a wise innocence, a shielded vulnerability.   I know that you could nurture  heal, comfort, and encourage others through such gifts, Lord!  Bring a husband in Your time who will cherish her, honor her, and protect her for exactly these wonderful qualities.  Lord, You will always treasure her even more than I do.  Amen
