Santorini

Santorini probably one the prize for being the most beautiful!  Like I said it would be hard to pick a favorite of the trip but easier to list favorites in categories.  It was a beautiful day with blue water, blue sky, and a place filled with blue church domes!  It was an amazing sight!

Our information described this stop as the "spectacular circular archipelago formed by a volcanic explosion that destroyed this center of Minoan civilization 3,600 years ago.  Some sources identify as the lost city of Atlantis."  Our boat anchored in the middle of this circular island almost looking like a horseshoe.  The two towns are high on top of the volcanic rock later we found out that it was to protect from pirates.  We took a smaller boat to the island then got on a bus which took us to our first scenic town.  We took pictures and stopped for pistachio gelato!

We went to a winery for that is the island's main export.  The grapes grow very close to the ground and it is quite fascinating and the view was AMAZING!

We concluded our time on the other end of the island and walked to the cable car to take us down the side of the volcanic rock!

This was the cable car that took us back down the volcanic rock from the town back to the water's edge to meet a smaller boat to return to our bigger ship!  You could also choose to ride a donkey which we opted out of that experience.  As you can see with our ship in the back ground looking pretty small we were pretty high up!  The cable car actually exceeded my expectations and was very efficient.  Course this is from the one who lives in Africa but I think everyone that went would agree.
Love this picture of Mark and Evelyn!

I have to mention as well that while I was off seeing the world Milo celebrated his 5th Birthday on June 11th!  I was feeling a little bad but certainly thought about him knowing he was having fun playing with his two favorite four legged friends Sampson and Heidi!!  Scott and Annelle were good sports and sent me this picture of Milo's Bowl of Birthday Kibble!  It made me happy!  So, technically now in dog years Milo is 35years old and has passed me up!
